ok, sure, I suffer from allergies like most people, but doesn't it seem like the pharmaceutical companies are releasing new allergy drugs every couple of weeks...
This new nasal spray, Veramyst, is the latest offering, at least in tv world. However, if you start reading the fine print at the bottom of the screen (which I admit is one of my "hobbies"), it actually says "The way Veramyst works is not entirely understood." Maybe the word entirely is completely, I can't remember exactly, but the quote is close to what I wrote.
Not entirely understood...geez, that fills me with confidence that Veramyst has gone through enough testing that it is safe for those of us who don't mind cataracts or glaucoma, as the commercial and the website say is a possible side effect.
Veramyst is an example of why I can no longer put a large amount of trust in the USFDA. Maybe the FDA should expect a drug company to know how its drug works, rather than rush it to market...only to end up with class action lawsuits (best case scenario) or deaths (worst case ).
this is from the website:
How VERAMYST Works - Chemicals
When an allergen enters your body, it sets a chain reaction in motion as your immune system releases a stream of chemicals that leads to allergy symptoms. VERAMYST works on a whole range of chemicals that lead to your allergy symptoms.*
*The way VERAMYST works is not fully understood.
